The ZACR Registrar Proxy Service provides Registrars the ability to connect directly with ZA Central Registry’s (ZACR) EPP system for management of .capetown, .durban and .joburg domains (gTLD)
Introduction to the ZACR Registrar Proxy Service
In 2014 ZACR launched 3 new local Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs), .CAPETOWN , .DURBAN and .JOBURG. In order to provision any of the 3 new gTLDs a Registrar must be ICANN Accredited. The reality of this is that close to 99% of South African Domain Registrars are not ICANN Accredited and this posed an issue regarding potential sales of these new gTLD’s.
In order to allow registrars that are not ICANN Accredited to provision the new. CAPETOWN, .DURBAN and .JOBURG domain names ZACR provides an EPP Proxy Service. The ZA Proxy Service allows a non-ICANN Accredited Registrar to integrate with the service and provision domain names in the ZACR gTLDs.
ZA Domains provides Domain Registrars with ZACR Registrar Proxy Service support to allow them to provision and manage any of the .CAPETOWN, .DURBAN and .JOBURG domain names.
In addition to the support that we provide for the ZACR Registrar Proxy Service we too provide our Domain Registrars with free Accreditation for the new gTLD’s.
